Analyze & Appreciate

This wooden chair I can see and feel,
I know this chair is something real,
But when it’s God I want to see
I cannot find where He can be.

My little brain and imperfect eyes
Only knows things of little size;
How can a great Creator be up There?
To find the truth I really care.

What is logical?  What is true?
Does this really concern me and you?
Look at the evidence, what did Chance bring?
One tiny blob evolved into everything?

Moonlight, Moon Bright

Moonlight, moon bright
You shine up there most every night.
I see you in the blackest sky
And sometimes in the day; I wonder Why.

At times you’re here, then over there,
Amazing how sun’s light you share.
To think men walked upon your face
Boggles the mind of the human race.

You are big and round, but kind of small,
Amazing that you’re there, at all.
I wonder why God put you there,
Without green plants and breathable air.

No rivers and no ocean shore,
Just rocks and rocks and rocks, some more.
In His wisdom He had a reason why
To orbit you up in earth’s sky.

A Little Bird Alone in Winter

Pretty little bird, sparrow hawk bird,
Go ahead and sing your song,
Although you seem to be all alone
          In a stark white-frozen world.
Without anticipation or worry or fear
You do what God created you for,
        Reminding us of the beauty
           And resiliency of life:
              His magnificent creation.
                     Sometimes I, too, feel alone
                            Surrounded by icy delusion,
The world stiff and numb with pride,
                                   Hearts solidified in serious confusion.

Bird in Flight

This swan makes flying look effortless, but what beauty and encouragement we can see.  The LORD's creation has much to teach us when we take the time to look and think and appreciate what He has made.  This photo is by Carlene Hardt ©2012.

Who Wins This Scientific Argument?

“If there is a Great Creator of All and I’m fairly certain there could be,
He’s too Magnificent and Big and Grand to be concerned about a person like me.”

The young man turned away, as if to end the conversation at the start
Which cautiously I had begun to share the burden on my heart.

(Challenging, exciting, sobering the outcome would be that day;
Follow along to see what happens, then decide what YOU would say.)

Questions Looking for an Answer

Did you command the moon or awaken the sun?
Did you imagine that you were the Holy One?
Reasons for faith, are there none?

Did you call yourself into being one day?
Is the human body only breath and clay?
Do you tell the stars to stay?

Can you hush the ocean’s mighty roaring tide?
Or make erupting of a volcano subside?
Do you rule the animals of the land?
Do you hold the future in your hand?

Sun Light, Sun Bright

Sunlight, sun bright,
shines all day until the night.

The sun is good, it was God’s plan
To bless the earth, the home for man.

God in His wisdom made it so
For light and heat, for things that grow.

Any farther, any bigger wouldn’t do,
That would eliminate both me and you.

Moon Light, Moon Bright

Moonlight, moon bright
You shine up there most every night.

I see you in the blackest sky
And sometimes in the day; I wonder Why.

At times you’re here, then over there,
Amazing how sun’s light you share.

To think men walked upon your face
Boggles the mind of the human race.

Star Light, Star Bright

Star light, star bright,
I see you shine up there tonight;

I wonder how you once were made.
I puzzle how your orbit’s stayed.

Lunch Time Conversation

It would be difficult to discuss the matter with Randy, but now that Wes had gotten better acquainted he wanted to try. Today this corner of the cafe was quiet, so with hamburgers nearly finished Wes started off with, “Do you believe in creation instead of evolution?”
“It makes more sense than everything coming from one little particle somewhere,” was Randy’s grudging comment.
