What I Don't Want to Forget

Thankfulness evades the harried heart,
But that’s what this time is for;
A few quiet moments alone,
I can’t spare much more. . .

What Matters?

Lord, show me what matters.
The world invades me with its events
and infects me with its values,
Sometimes I find myself easily overwhelmed.
Trivia, too, engulfs my waking hours, devours my energy,
Pressing matters are not always important matters.

Lord, deliver me from confusion about
What really matters.
Let what matters to You matter to me,
Let my heart respond to Your Holy Spirit,
Let my choices bring You glory,
You really matter to me.

Facing Changes

Transitions — some chosen and some not,
Inflicting discomfort lasting longer than you thought,
Prompting a new look at your perceived ability,
Demanding a new response of mental agility.
Take a look, define the problem more clearly,
Define those values you hold more dearly.
Exercise patience, be honest in prayer,
Prove to yourself how thoughtfully you care.

Challenging YOU to Pray for the Worst Person You Know

Worst person you personally know?
The worst person you are hearing about?
Are you praying for them?
Once, the worst person at that time became angry and murderous. But he also was very religious, very well educated, and he strongly influenced other people — what a contrast. The Bible does not tell us that anyone was praying for him to change, but Saul did make a huge change in his life, an amazing change in his vocation.
