What's This All About

Are you a thinker still ?
Remember, you used to be . . .
Give your brain some exercise
What new ideas can you see ?

A challenge a day
keeps boredom away !

Not every challenge is a happy one --
You will not like everything,
but you ARE a capable person.

So, see what today will bring.

Will YOU Be Ready for Christmas ?

Is everything decorated the way you choose ?
Inside and outside looking very good ?
Also keeping up with the latest news ?
Doing just what you think you should ?

So, you really are prepared ? Show us a smile !
And keep reading on for a little while . . .

When dying happens to someone you know
Was it anticipated?  Will it turn out OK ?
Are family and friends needing some help ?
Will you find some suitable words to say?

Oh, but what if it’s more serious than that . .
What if that’s your personal day to die ?
You’ll meet your Creator God for judgment,
Is that a day to rejoice in Jesus, or to cry ?

Being prepared for life’s challenges . . . ?
a very serious, important thing to do.
The Bible isn’t just some old book.
Think now and decide what dying means to you.
                          + + +

“For God so loved the world
that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him.”    John 3:16,17

Rating My Week

  1. What did I learn in my life this week?
  2. What did I learn from observing others this week?
  3. What do I think God wanted me to learn this week?
  4. What unfinished business do I have?
  5. What’s my plan for next week?
Rate yourself for handling the good and not-so-good events that happened last week. Your assessment can bring a smile or a frown.  Honesty in this little personal exercise could bring a new flash of enlightenment.  A little nudge might be just what you need.

Call this experience a challenge.  Consider the value of making personal changes.  Your frustration can lead to a new determination for a new beginning.  Confer with your boss, that is, pray to your Maker.

If you’re serious about improving yourself write down your impressions. Keep track of your bright ideas.

Rate your week about seven days from now; size up your progress and your success in life lessons.

Thinking About ?

Is your head full of facts
   and lots of hopes and dreams ?
Are you happy ?  Or overwhelmed
   with how today’s life seems ?

When awake or asleep
   are you busy sorting it out ?
Does this use up all your time ?
   So you want to pout ?

You wonder what will help ?
   All you need is a prayer —
and honest talk with God
   since He IS with you there.

Own up to what you’re doing,
   (Yes, He already knows);
Ask for His guidance, too,
   Thankful for what His love shows.

Yes, you’ve been a sinner,
   Yes, the world is quite a mess.
It’s time to be a believer,
   It’s you God wants to bless.

Read what the Bible says;
   Life after death is true.
Now’s the time to find out
   what to believe, what to do.

Looking Ahead

Life’s not just a game everyone thinks they’re playing;
Look back, then look ahead to see what I’m saying.

Drowning in details?  Take a new look today;
Gather the evidence and see what the facts say.

You’re building on accumulations, so keep on track;
Notice the necessities, admit what you lack.

Put those thoughts into words on paper for review;
Set a goal for today and figure out how, too.

        And . . .

Making it Easier For You

Do you like to be encouraged by someone, or challenged to give something some thought, or introduced to some new idea?

Do you prefer short articles of facts, or stories of real people, or short poetry that is easily understood?

You can find items posted in this blog in all of these categories.  For eleven years there’s been a variety of items posted, for a total of 580 writings.
And the handy feature here is the list on the right side, an alphabetical list of key topics that you’ll find.  Want to consider the idea of “worry” or “purpose” or “encourage”? Look at all those topics waiting for your exploration.
Making it easier for you to zero in on some topics for a quick read is the goal of this blog. Whether it’s just spending a few minutes or popping into the blog at least once a week there are ideas I share.

What Can I Tell You About Life, My Child?

Oh, I can't tell you what you ought to be
or ought to do,
but I can tell you how it was for me.

Life is downright daily,
a lot of chores needin' repeatin'
but it frees the mind for thinkin'.

Life is full of waiting' but I finally up and decided
to be thankful for the pauses.

Life is full of decisions, some little spur-of-the-moment
implusive and superficial, and some heart-throbbin'
big and scary life-changin' decisions --
the prayin'-over kind.

Attitude Adjustment

What’s your passion, what do you do well?
Do you dream that you can?
An attitude can be improved
By a careful, thought-out plan;
