I Hate to Make a Mistake

I hate to make a mistake,
Either small or with a lot at stake.
Sometimes it evokes a long sigh,
Sometimes I think I want to cry,

But bravely I must keep on going;
Growing comes from improved knowing!
There are lessons to learn, things to do
To avoid the next mistake, too.

So I acknowledge the truth I see:
Thinking is important to me.
God gave me a brain in my head
So, “I can do better,” is what I said.

My decision was to have peace of mind,
Thankfully, this is what I learned to find.
What a blessing the Lord gives to us,
So don’t let mistakes make you fuss.
