What's the Bible For?

Perhaps you have a Bible;  is it a good luck charm for you?
Is it symbolic or antique?  Or mere suggestions of what to do?

No, not just a list of Must Do and Don’t Do, as its central core.
The way to meet your Maker is what the Bible is for.

Not a catalog of people who lived very long ago;
There are lessons for us to learn, how to do and how to grow.

Not just to carry around as if to try to impress,
Not for argumentation or flippantly quoted in jest.

Not an old reference book for a scholar to read,
But a collection of words for a caring person to heed.

Not to stir imagination, not a relic to sit on the shelf;
Consider God’s invitation quietly by yourself.

God wants you to know His love, and experience His grace;
Read about Jesus, find forgiveness, the Bible can bring you to this place.
