The calendar calls for a patriotic theme!
Some will reminisce with grateful emotions;
Others choose to spend another holiday
occupied with ordinary commotions.
Hold on there! Give a moment for reflection:
Honor, duty, sacrifice for a worthy goal,
Everyone free, so everyone can choose
Godly values that ennoble the soul.
Maybe it’s not popular to declare, but
God’s Word commands what we are supposed to do.
Wrong thoughts and words and deeds will bring His judgment;
Best for us to acknowledge that this is true.
A nation must have citizens and leaders with
Honesty, morality, fulfilling obligations,
Loyalty, integrity, dependability,
Bold enough to turn from on-going temptations.
Fly the flag! Salute our servicemen and women,
Keep alert, prepared, speak with wisdom’s information;
You have one life to live your very best, so
Demonstrate a thoughtful appreciation.
