The days have added up to December,
We barely got acquainted with November.
Now decorating is the thing to do;
I’m nearly worn out, how about you?
But the Christmas spirit is in the air,
We hope the weather will be fair.
We’ve tried hard not to spend too much,
Yet wanted again that festive touch.
We made a list and checked it twice,
Planned everything to turn out nice.
Quiet moments we’ve had so few,
Still here is wishing the best for you.
A potpourri of holiday writing,
Then a fond wish for season’s delighting.
If I could, I would give you the time
and read to you this writing of mine.
Nevertheless, you’re on your own,
Hope you’ll enjoy it when you’re alone.
A meaningful, marvelous celebration so bright,
Remembering God’s gift to us on that long-ago night.
