He’s home for the holidays,
But you’re left behind for now;
God has some other chores for you
Until your day comes, somehow.

Expecting Peace and Quiet for Christmas?

Christmas commotion is in the air,
Noise intruding everywhere;
My heart desires a restful space,
My mind searches for a quiet place.

The Present I Didn't Expect to Find

A big package arrived last evening at the door,
as I brought it in I wondered what was in store.

Wrapped in newspaper, tied with ordinary string;
Memories flooded in when I saw such a thing.
Once I’d seen a gift like this; I remembered when —
long buried disappointment came to life again.

In the Mood for Christmas?

When life is topsy-turvy and you’re busy-busy-busy,
All the season’s demands tend to make a person dizzy.
For Christmas to mean something, it’s for you to prepare;
You owe yourself that gift of love, before you can share.

Sun Light, Sun Bright

Sunlight, sun bright,
shines all day until the night.

The sun is good, it was God’s plan
To bless the earth, the home for man.

God in His wisdom made it so
For light and heat, for things that grow.

Any farther, any bigger wouldn’t do,
That would eliminate both me and you.
