I’ve been plodding along a rocky path,
Barely able to squint to see;
It’s lonesome out here, but only
Temporarily.
One day rain poured down in silver buckets;
Sunshine again, when would it be?
I have to admit I did complain,
Temporarily.
Now it’s uphill on a scorching hot day;
Muscles are crying unendingly,
But then I remember it’s tough,
Temporarily.
Life’s laden with stress and aggravation;
How much longer such difficulty?
My goals achieved only partly and
Temporarily.
Then God whispers peace to my struggling heart;
“Trust, My child, and obey Me.”
Soon life’s lessons will have served their purpose,
Eternally.
