What Can I Tell You About Life ?

          Life is down-right daily,
mostly a lot of chores, needin’ repeatin’
but it frees the mind for thinkin’

          Life is full-a waitin’
but I finally up and decided
to be thankful for the pauses

          Life is full-a decisions,
          some little spur-of-the-moment
          impulsive and superficial,
          and some heart-throbbin'
          big and scary
          life-changin' decisions —
          the prayin'-over kind

          Life comes with plenty-a mistakes,
          blushin' or moanin' ones,
some you kin laugh on later,
          but all lesson-teachin'

          Life's always got some strife
          like sparks when friction's
          knockin' off rough edges
          in the tumblin' jar

          Life's pretty near unpredictable,
and that don't suit some folks,
but it do make it interestin'
          if you knows it's worthwhile

All this is how I found out
how to talk to my Maker
and listen when He talks to me !

Just One Day More, Keep on Goin'

Just a day
away from perfection !
Give this some contemplation . . .

Just one day more, keep on goin’
Stop your cryin’ — keep on tryin’
Looks like rain, but it’s a sunny day !
Show your smile, yes, you may !”

So the family creed was what we did need,
All my siblings — each kid —  knew what we did.
Of course, I wanted to do good —
even at school they knew I should.

Us kids were goin’ to Sunday School,
We learned many a good rule.
Teacher told us about God’s love,
We anticipated going to Heaven above.

Bedtime was the definite time
to look back, at least it was mine.
What did I do ?  Who was it to ?
Of course, I prayed for you !

My own perfection wasn’t here yet,
but thinkin’ at bedtime means I was set:
For a better tomorrow I would try —
Growing older comes bye and bye.

Let's Keep in Touch

How can we keep in touch?  Might be verbally, in person —  might be written down in an email you send — might be some good stuff you write down that you post to your personal blog which is read by invisible persons.
Who are the important people in your life?  Your mom, dad, siblings — the generation that came before yours, so that includes aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins — the people your work with on your job — some neighbors — possibly friends who lived in the town where you used to live.

Here’s a short challenge for ONE WEEK.  Try it and see what you think afterwards.
  1. Compliment one person today face to face.
  2. Compliment one person today in writing.
  1. Say something nice about somebody when you talk to somebody else today.
  1. Say something nice to one person in your family today.
  1. Order online an animated greeting card of your choice for a person in your family. Take a look here:   www.jacque lawson.com and note the membership fee of $20 for one year.  You can order up any of their cards, as often as you life, to as many people as you like. You can order them up for a year, and you’ll be notified by your email when JL has sent the card.
      6.  When a holiday is coming real soon buy something  yummy from the grocery store
or  bake some of your favorite cookies and take them over to a neighbor.

       7.  Now you’ve done all these little suggestions for the week.  How do you rate your
effort,  your timing, any results you can think of this week.
Jot down a few key words to score your own input.

It's fun to keep in touch !

Gift of Time

A phone call, card, or visit
is a gift of time that's given.
Friendship's caring is a glimpse
    of Father's love in Heaven.

No one knows how long will be
   the lifetime God's given you.
Receive it as a treasure
    and spend it wisely, too.

Give time to God in worship,
    an honor that is due;
He lavishes His goodness
every day on me and you.

Give time to others joyfully,
    prayerfully doing your best;
Cherish the opportunity,
and your heart will be blessed.
