Hope Is Not, Hope Is

Hope is not a lazy thing
That waits to see what comes;
Hope seizes the plow and starts it now
And knows where strength is from.


This is the way God’s work is done,
His glory is our prize;
He gives the power for each stressful hour.
With confidence and joy, arise!

Hope trusts a loving Lord to act,
speaks truth with strong determination;
Hope is full of cheer; the Lord is here.
Hope celebrates with great elation.
